What is a Moon sign?
Your Moon sign is the sign the Moon was in at the moment you were born. Your Sun sign describes your conscious self and who you want to be; your Moon sign describes your feelings, your instincts and what you need to feel safe. In close relationships, it is your Moon that does most of the talking.
Do I need my birth time?
The Moon spends about two and a half days in each sign, so for most birth dates the Moon sign is clear without a time. If the Moon changed sign that day, you need your time; in that case we show both possibilities.
What if my Moon and Sun signs differ?
For most people they do, and that is normal. Someone with a Leo Sun and a Virgo Moon, for example, can look bright and confident on the outside while quietly worrying about details, order and whether they are good enough.
The 12 Moon signs
Aries: Your feelings are fast and hot: they flare and fade. Anger comes quickly and leaves quickly. You need movement to unwind.
Taurus: You need safety and continuity. Familiar food, a comfortable home and people who stay the same calm you down.
Gemini: You process feelings by talking. You do well when your mind is busy; boredom weighs on you more than solitude.

Leo: You want to be seen and appreciated. You show love generously and expect warmth in return.
Virgo: You manage feelings through order. Being useful and fixing something settles you; you are prone to worry.
Libra: You need harmony to feel at peace. You can't stand tension and look for balance in relationships; being alone is hard for you.
Scorpio: You feel intensely and privately. All or nothing: trust takes time, but once attached you attach deeply.
Sagittarius: You look for freedom and meaning. When cornered, you run; your optimism and humour keep you going on the hardest days.
Capricorn: You keep your feelings under control. You choose to look strong; underneath you look for responsibility and security.
Aquarius: You look at your feelings from a little distance. Friendship and freedom matter to you as much as closeness.
Pisces: You are a sponge: you carry other people's feelings as your own. Time alone, music and daydreams put you back together.
